Join Homeschoolers Anonymous and publish well-written articles. Communicate with the admins and senior members there to make sure your voice is heard. I am putting my foot down against homeschooling, too, although I have never been homeschooled. And I have a wonderful position. I live in Germany where it is ABSOLUTELY illegal to homeschool. If you do it there in spite of the very very unambigious legal situation (some religious nutters do), the police will move in with at least a dozen men and escort your children to school. If you persist, you lose custody of your children, until you promise to send them to school. If you promise and then renege, you, the parent, are taken into custody, before they take your children away for a *sightly* longer time.
And you know what?: I LOVE IT and want it to stay that way. May the HSLDA and their ilk never ever gain foothold in this country (but Germans are stubborn, *lol*)

Hi Lauren, from your other posts I understand that you are app 13 years old and currently homeschooled. I don't know which state you live in, but if you want to get out of that situation, call Child Protection Services and report abuse. This might force your parents to reconsider some of their positions. If they don't, my advice would be: Be brave and forget your parents. They are vain and selfish if they don't give a s*** about how much you suffer. They do not deserve the title of "parents" - have you noticed how some people here call them "Moon Units". Ask Child Protection to remove you from your family altogether. Your parents are about to screw your entire future life, and if you organise yourself another home (in a foster family or foster care), this is an act of self defense. Be radical with your choices! In a foster home and a public school you might actually stand a chance of developing much better than in your family. If you want more detailed advice, email me on kgruenzw(at)gmail(dot)com
