It's nice that you like it, but that isn't really the best criterion for judging something that will affect your life for years to come, is it? I liked homeschooling while I was doing it because I didn't have to deal with people or spend time on things I didn't like, but in the long run, that has made my life harder. Not to mention all the opportunities I missed, but that's another post.
As for the video, many of these statistics are self-reported, so they are questionable. I bet most of the parents who let their kids watch 8+ hours a day of TV would say that they watch one hour or less--whatever helps them keep homeschooling, right? Or they might not be watching TV because it might expose them to something besides their parents' extremist views. Anyway, these are paltry measurements of success--test scores and spelling bees. None of that means anything when you're over 25. There's no way to quantify what you miss as a homeschooled student--the network of people who will support you and help you make your way just wasn't there for many of us, and even those who have church or co-op networks--it's just not the same.
And the comments are horrifying. The one person casually drops the N-word and says "that's not even being racist"--THERE'S someone who should be teaching his/her kids with no outside input from the rest of the world!
