Hi, I just noticed the board is maybe a little slow so I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Jessica I am 31 and a stay-at-home-mom. My husband is from India, and at the time we were married he was technically a Christian missionary from India to Canada! We have one son who is almost two years old, and another little boy on the way.
I was homeschooled (A.C.E.) from grades 4 - 9 with my two brothers. Before that I went to a private Christian school for k - 3, and after years of begging my mom I went to a public highschool for 10 - 12. My mom wanted me to get a job after highschool so I didn't go to college right away, but then after about four years I went to college for general studies, and then after that I went to nursing school. I was inspired by my cousins and an online homeschool friend who are all now nurses, but I was not able to finish. It was just over my head. Well, now I am a happy stay-at-home due too the grace of God!
My husband and I are currently trying to decide if we are going to homeschool or not. We live next to public charter schools, but we dont want to send our kids to public school, and also know some homeschoolers, homeschool veteran family ? , and friends who are going to homeschool their daughter. That is more than we had when we were in homeschooling. Also I have a lot of opinions about what my parents could have done to make life better for us. But you know, I believe there are also people in public systems who also wish some things had been different in their lives. Nobody's life is perfect, and we just have to be grateful for every good thing we have been given, and not let that go to waste. Live wisely, do your best, and trust in the Lord!
